How to import credit card transaction in QuickBooks desktop and online
Step 1- selecting banking sector
First open your QuickBooks account.
Go to the QuickBooks software dashboard.

Step 2- connect your credit card account
If you’re connecting first time your bank or credit card in QuickBooks then you will see on screen allowing you to connect your account to QuickBooks online. If you already connected then then it will directly taken you in to the banking center.
From banking center click on Link account button for connect a new credit card account.
Every details of your credit card such as name of card provider etc. have to fill in this section.
After selecting your card provider details, QuickBooks displayed a new screen in which you have to login to my bank account.

Step 3- Set up the account in the chart of account.

If you have a new account then click on Add new.

Method to Import Credit Card Transactions into QuickBooks desktop & online
Method 1- Import credit card transaction manually into the QuickBooks online.
For importing credit card transaction you need first to download the transaction file from your credit card company.
For this, browse your credit card company online.
Login your account.
Now locate the option to download my account transaction.
Select the transfer file and import it into the QuickBooks.
For this now open the QuickBooks desktop software in your system.
Import a transaction file click on banking.
If you have already account on it select your account and click “down the arrow” next to the Link Account button.
Click on upload from file.
Look for the browse button and click on it to connect for the QuickBooks web connect file.
Then click next to open it.
Review that QuickBooks Web Connect file you are going to import such as filename, Account ID, Account Type, and Date range.

By clicking on review you can check four transactions which are imported. Description is actually the Payee name and the Payee name is empty because there is need to match vendor’s records in QuickBooks. For this categorize the transaction and match them to the vendors or Payees.
